Waiting anxiously

So, I'm here is Seattle, WA. I arrived without a hitch. My bike is back together, the people are great and the weather is beautiful. It's been a sunny cloudless sky, 27C, with only a 40% humidity.
The locals here are complaining about the heat, apparently this is really unusual weather and is hardly ever this hot. I just had lunch about an hour ago, and I'm soon heading out for a group safety training ride. This morning was the orientation and safety theory, pretty general stuff. My bike is together, after a few things were put back together it seems to be in nearly prefect shape. Or at least the same shape I packed it in. I don't have much time to keep writing, but I'll be writing more tomorrow after our first day of riding. Can't wait to get started!

Let the adventure begin!

With mere days before I leave to visit family in British Columbia on Wednesday I thought I would post some things for all of you before I leave. My family and I are going to be visiting family in Abbotsford, BC and going to a wedding for my cousin in Kelowna, BC. On Saturday, June 28, 2008 I'll be flying from Kelowna to Seattle, WA were I will be picked up by some of the tour crew and getting a ride to the University of Washington where we will be staying (we being the over 150 some riders and 28 support crew traveling on the tour) working on a lot of orientation work, preparation, and going over general rules of the road. On Monday, June 30th we will be heading out on the first day of our journey from Golden Garden State Park on the coast in Seattle and heading to Sultan, WA (50mi/80km ride) were we will be staying at Sultan High School for the night. However, as I believe, we aren't staying in the building but only using the facilities that have been generously given to us for our short stay. We will be sleeping outside in tents for the majority of the tour I believe.
Also, some other information about the tour and how to reach me. I will have access to internet everyday of the tour, you can reach me if you'd like to email me during the tour at mrekman16@hotmail.com. Also, there will be four (4) mail drop off points along the route. They are in Boise ID (July 12), Denver CO (July 26), Madison WI (Aug. 6), and St. Catharines ON (Aug. 23). All details regarding this as well as where the Celebration Rallies are (what cities, dates, exact locations, how to get tickets) can all be found at the SEAtoSEA website, www.seatosea.org
And again I want to thank everyone for all the support I've received, both in terms of helping me fund raise over $10,200 to fight poverty (special thanks to my family fro their overwhelming help and to my church family at Redeemer CRC in Sarnia) and thank you for all your prayers for me and my fellow riders!
